Hi there! You are here because something intrigued you. Perhaps you met us at a farmer’s market, were captivated by the aroma of our spices, or found us online. No matter how you ended up here, thank you.

Growing up, we were accustomed to spices sourced at the prime of harvest. That’s something we missed and wanted to bring here to share with you. Each spice we choose is native to the region it’s from. Each farming partner is selected because they organically grow their crops in a way that restores and rebuilds the earth. Because we work directly with our farming partners, you are able to experience the true potency of spices sourced within the same season they are grown. And our farming partners are able to be compensated fairly, up to three times market rates, lessening economic inequalities, helping them to thrive and prosper. It’s an approach that restores reverence to the spices, their flavor and the people who work hard to grow them.

Koshna has taken three long years to come to life (trust me it has not been an easy road). It was born out of my deep-rooted love for the vibrant flavors of India I grew up with. Every year, my mother would bring freshly ground, incredibly fragrant spices from India. But due to the global Covid lockdowns, she could not travel here and I was left without my beloved spices. To substitute, I tried countless spice brands, but none came close to the freshness and flavor that had become an integral part of my culinary experience. To be honest, cumin tasted like cardboard (no disrespect intended to other spice brands). This is when the seed of Koshna was planted. Throughout my life, I’ve been fortunate to enjoy the freshest cumin possible. It would come straight from my grandfather’s farm every year, at the first harvest. I hold incredibly high standards when it comes to the freshness and flavor of my spices.
